Here is what i have running
SX2000 light
I currently have 4 digit extension starting with 6XXX
some of the staff have decided they needed DID to there sets the DID numbers are a different sequence
What they are asking is to keep the old ext numbers and also have DID numbers also and to have voicemail on both sets of numbers
I have researched using the digit mod table to change the DID to dial the old extension number will i have to set up digit mod table for each ext ? there are about 25 of them that want the change any other idea are welcome

could you provide some more insight on using the speed dial tables
one option I havent looked at

just build a speed dial, say 7xxx pointed to 6xxx,, works great
when the system see's the 7xxx, it will go to 6xxx

I already have some DIDs assigned to extensions not sure if the speed dial would apply
can the 7xxx have wildcards ? or does it have to be specific to each number ?
what about call reouting ? would that be a option ?

As long as your DID's inbound do not match/conflict with any other DN in the system speed dial is probably going to be your way to go - you just set the DID in sys speed xxx-xxx-4123, 4123 system speed dial goes to ext 6101, your translation is done, and the DID call will route to 6101's voice mail
I am guessing your Trunk Service Assignment for these DID trunks is set to absorb 0 and you are recieving the last 4 digits of the DID #

My DIDS are numbered with 5XXX and my extensions start at 6XXX
So I will set up under system speed call assignment ?
on Trunk service assignment for DID it is set to absorb 0

Exactly, 5XXX dials 6XXX. No need to absorb any digits

How will this work on incoming calls ? what will happen when they dial 2XX-52XX and then convert it ti a 6xxx number

sometimes it helps to view this sort of thing the way that the system does.
Someone dials xxx-xxx-52xx (a number in your DID range). The Telco sends you a DNIS number, such as 52xx. The SX2000 says, "what do I do with this call?" So it looks at DNs. There's a match for a speed dial, 52xx. That speed dial points to extension 6xxx. Call goes through, rings the phone at 6xxx.
Now, say that you have "absorb 1" instead of "absorb 0." The telco sends 52xx, the SX2000 strips the 5, and looks at 2xx. It says, "What do I do with this?" So it looks at DNs. There's a match for speed dial 2xx. That speed dial points at ext. 6xxx. Extension 6xxx rings.
