Sx2000 light
trouble accessing the inactive plane on a the system

unable to login, system is showing a major alarm
with the folowing Fil sta Re current state: active isolation
previous state: active isolation
dms st initialized flag is on

me s main contoller A active closed
me m controller a closed

leaning towards swapping out the controller card on B side

will have to do after hours since the switch needs powering down

any input would be helpful

If you just reset the inactive plane, and watch it load via the maintenance port, you can see if it's able to access the hard drive, or if it's failing after that.

reset the inactive plane , does not load

red orange lights solid on circuit switch and controller cards
B1 solid on the controller card

Typically, that means it can't load from the hard drive. As I mentioned, if you monitor the reboot process through the serial port, you can confirm the cause of the problem.
Also, on the redundant system, you don't have to shut down both controllers to work on the inactive one.

here is what i did

powered down the inactive plane, reseated the the plane cards, powered back up, waited a few minutes, then ran daily check on both planes
major alarm went out can access both planes


will monitor and check maint logs for problems

thanks for your help
light should have gone on in head when checking the connections on the back of the system

Intermittent loading from the hard drive is a sure sign that the drive is in it's last days.
I'd reccomend getting a replacement lined up for when it eventually won't reload.
