Hi all, I have a SX200ML/EL that has MEM in a hotel. The hotel also has a PMS connected to the MEM card. I have gone through a set to accsess the admin mailbox to set the MEM serial port to Messenger access. I can't get into the system. I keep getting Error 21. I can get into MEM's around town with no problem with the same cable, same com port settings. This is the only SX200 in town that has a PMS. I use the default passcode (and have tried many others that the last tech may have changed it to)
Any suggestions?

Log in to the administrator's mailbox. Go to option 5, then 8, then 1 to set the interface to 'Express Manager'.

Or you can try logging in using the modem connection from onsite.

I have logged into the admin MB and set the serial port to MEM access from a PMS port. Still get error 21.
Steve, I'll look up using the MEM modem to see if I can get into it that way. I thought that the problem might be a password change from 8XX2.
Not sure how to reset the password to default (in case thats the problem). That may be something that I have to go to Mitel for?
Thanks for the reply guys. This forum has been helpful.

I tried several passwords that the previous tech used around town. I just found (in the manual) that you have to wait 10 seconds between login attempts. I'll give that a try too.

Are you sure the system password length is set to 4 digits?

I have also experienced that problem when the card is not in slots 1-4 as Mitel recommends. Had one that I had to add a couple of zeros on the PW too as 55 pointed out. If you can get in throught the TUI, the same password should work on the Exp. Manager.

I hven't been back to the hotel yet. Good idea to check the password length.

wdg,
Are you using a manufactured null modem cable or a straight through with a null modem adapter. Don't ask me why but I have been to properties where the null modem had to be on the PC end of the cable and others where it had to be on the MEM end in order to gain access.
Have never had that issue with the null modem cable I made per Mitel instructions though...
