Just today the PBX started clicking as if someone is ringing another line, and has not ceased even now, several hours later.
I thought that message waiting may have been accidentally enabled for a line, but none of the red indicators on the cards are on. I disconnected the unit from power for a few minutes, and after reconnecting, the PBX acted normal (no clicking). However, after about half an hour the clicking came back, still with no indicator lights enabled.

Anyone have any idea as to what may be the problem?

I am making the assumption that when the PBX clicks someone is ringing another phone and the line is in use, and that a corresponding red led should turn on to represent that a line is in use. Although I am not sure if there are exceptions to this.

If it's a bad line card, remove and re-install each of your line cards until the clicking stops. If that doesn't work, try the same thing on each of your trunk cards. The problem could also be your power supply, or your MCC, but use this process of elimination to narrow the possibilities.

I think what you are hearing is a message waiting light on a phone. You won't see any blinking lights on the card when this voltage is being sent to the light.

Thanks for the advice you guys.
I seemed to have resolved the issue, at least temporarily, although I am still not sure what the problem was.

I was able to determine which line card was clicking, and I was about to pull it out, but as soon as I moved it a millimeter or so, the clicking stopped. And it hasn't clicked since.
A bad connection maybe?
