Hello,
I am working on a Mitel SX 200 ICP MX Controller for a Hotel. They have an ext that is locked out or shorted. The ext can make calls, but is unable to receive them. When you call the ext it to goes to the front desk. I checked the the config, wiring, and defaulted the functions to make sure that there was no forward or anything creating the issue. The ext is slot 1 bay 6 circuit 13 and is located in the PBX rather than on a card, which would make this allot easier. Would anyone have any suggestions how a can disconnect the ext so I can move it too another port. I have moved the phone to another port, but they need that ext and I can not delete it while its in use. Under Diag I found that the ext showed rather than Idle it was rvce, Which I assumed meant off hook.
Any help would be great..
Thanks, Rodi

Are you sure you are reading that right? 1-6-13 would be an IP Trunk. If it is Bay 1 Slot 13 Ckt 6 then it would be an ONS/Class line and you could try unplugging the amphenol from the back of the ICP and see if it goes to idle or go to that block and disconnect the cross connect. Then you could delete and program on a card.

you can idle the ext from maint window,, 9 reports, 2 show, 3 status,3 ext number, then you get a cp_dev_idle,, which will idle the port

First I want to thank you for your input..
Steve, I was way off 1-13-4 sorry about that, But I had tried to disconnect the cross-connect with no effect. I went ahead and tried your idea of unplugging the amphenol connectors and still same thing.
XetaTech, tHE CURRENT SOFTWAR VERSION IS SX_200_icp_3.1.0.11 I went to the location you gave me and did not see that option so I may need to update the software..
Here is what I found though, SW Stat:Dialg and under receiver rcvr..The HW STAT is currently Idle..So I assume that is saying that this is a software issue...
So would updating the software be my best next step, and is there any other options I have..
Thanks

Okay, so it receives but calls go straight to voicemail. Can't be the inside wiring.
First, verify that the extension is what they think it is. Call a "SuperSet" phone (or the console) from that set and say, "What extension number does it say on your display?"
If it's the right number, swap the cross connect with another extension of the same type (i.e. analog/ONS or Digital/DNIC). Does the problem follow the phone, or stay with the port?
Make sure that COS matches with a good phone (COS number in form 9 should be the same).
Read the logs and look for info on that phone.
Check the phone itself for a defective hookswitch. If it mounts on a wall, make sure that the hookswitch is engaged when the phone in on-hook.
If all else fails, restart the PBX.

If it's a superset digital phone, make sure the handset is plugged into the correct position. Bad things happen when it's in the headset port.

Telephoneguy,
Great info, but I have already tried those. First thing I did was try another phone with the same results..Then tried my buttset just to make sure..I moved that phone to another port and it works fine, but the ports still shows that the SW STAT: as Dialg, and is unable to release the port or Ext#. It says it's still in use. I have taken the cross-connect off and the amphenol connectors to try to get it to release, but nothing so far. I have checked the COS and haven't seen anything that stands out, and there is another phone that uses that COS and has no problems. I switch to another COS to see if it would have an effect and still nothing. I was able to Busy it out, but when I returned service no change..I have restarted the PBX many times..lol
So I'm still looking. I'm checking into updating the Software at this point...
Thanks for all the help..Keep the hints coming and if I find out whats going on I will post...
Thanks

If it was in a bay I'd find the card it's on and swap with another card, but that won't help on the controller proper.
UM, stupid question, but by any chance was this system "Previously Owned?"

Nope, We installed it brand new about 5 years ago. They do have allot of electrical issues there. Some of the problems they are having now started right after they lost power for a few hours.

Sounds like a bad analog main card.
