We have a 4 port Express Messenger ver. 4.0. When trying to leave a message in a users MB the system plays a message stating that the system is full and to try again later. I logged in to the system and it shows as only 5 percent full. I tried rebooting, but still have the same problem. Any thoughts about what is causing this???
Thank you.

Is the system full, or just that particular mailbox?

The message that plays says the system is full and plays no matter which MB I try to leave a message in. When I log in with express messenger programming the system only shows as 5 percent full.

Can you retrieve messages otherwise?
Have you tried powering down and rebooting?
Sometimes voicemail systems need a warm boot to keep them honest.
Another option would be to back up the configuration using Express Manager, then re-initialize the system and reload the configuration.

Have you looked at the individual mailboxes to see how many messages are in each one? How many mailboxes on the system? The mailboxes could be full but the system sees that there is lots of memory unused. Each box has a limit on number of messages it can take and that has nothing to do with total memory.

When a user tries to retrieve a message, the system responds saying there are no messages even though the message light is flashing. I tried doing a reboot, but still have the same problems

The message light is controlled by the Mitel processor. Try using the "message cancel" code, or go to the console and clear messages.

Are you sure the light was turned on by the Voice Mail System? In form 2, find out the access code for feature #42 (Call Sender of Oldest Message) and dial that code from the set with a MW light. See who answers, and tell them to stop using that feature!!
