Hello everybody,
I have a Mitel SX-50 hook up looks like this: Serial Port on SX-50 > Serial-USB Converter > USB on Computer PMS Call Accounting system I receive call accounting on computer, no problem. But suddenly, I would guess every 24 hrs, I get "Dead Printer" or "Printer queue is full". After that call accounting on computer does not receive anything anymore. I tried *75+0 and *75#, no change. I have to completely restart Mitel SX 50 and computer to get it working again.
Big question is, where is the problem? On Mitel or Computer?
Thank you already for all your help.

I suggest putting a serial printer between the SX-50 and the PC. What is probably happening is that the Serial/USB converter is dropping the DSR signal, and so the SX-50 thinks that the converter is not ready to receive data.
With the printer in the loop, the printer can provide a DSR signal that both the converter and the SX-50 will see all the time.
Or you can use a PC with an HTG 9-pin serial port.

Thank you for your quick reply. What kind of printer should I use? I remember years back we used Okidata with serial card, can't remember model number. On Mitel serial port would I use a splitter to bring new printer into the loop? Splitter to printer and Serial/USB converter?

Most call accounting boxes use a split cable (xiox, for example) or will have a printer port (TEL, for example)on the Call Accounting box.
In this case, would recommend making a split cable.
OKIDATA Microline 182 is a common serial printer for this sort of application.
SX-50 < ---- USB CONV. ----- PC ...... \ ....... \--- Printer
Would be the config I'd try.
