I m posting this for my boss. He lost his business last year in an unannounced tornado. He has recovered the SX-50 box from electrical room. He is just recently getting around to selling it as his insurance just settled one portion of the claim..contents (meaning hotel equipment), so now he can sell the system as he doesnt have another hotel. Anyways, he wants me to check it out if it works because he is not electronic savy. I have plugged in the SX-50 box with cards into power and then plugged in the console but the console says no communication. All the cards have a green status light. [Little background]When my boss removed the box he took out the cards first than the box because it was attached to a wall but the screws were stripped but he cut them and got box down. He doesn't remember original slots the big cards were plugged into.
Anyways, recently I plugged in the 5 [16 cc] ONS card in row(near PSU) than 8 n 4 LS/GS cards in the last two slots on right away from PSU near CPU. And then plugged in PSU to surge protector and then phone console and turned on the red switch on PSU; phone console had 3 hold lights come on and then no communication appeared and Alarm light keeps flashing with an alarm tone. Is the system working or is it fried? How much should he sell it for? Is the no communication normal as I don’t have a working phone line or did I screw it up?

Here the hotel

Can't really tell from your info.
But the system can be defaulted and will program itself to the cards that are installed.

You should plug the console directly into the console port on the system. If it comes up and can check some things out from the console.

You really should have a Mitel Certified tech. look at it.

The cost of a service call will be more than justified, as you will be able to sell it for a fair price once you know it works.

Looks like you have a 4 conductor cord plugging the console into the system. It takes a 6 conductor cord that should have been with it.
That might help. You also have a 0. on the 7 segment display which is a good sign too.

Steve's right, you need a six conductor line cord. Not a common item. Start calling Telephone system Sales and repair companies in the phone book and one will have them.
