I have rewired and installed a new CD player and still get static or broken music on an ONYX VS system on hold.

No, it's 8' across the room with the wire going into the ceiling away from electic objects. I get clear music by pressing the hold button and if I call in on the inhouse phone. At this point the only problem experienced is calling in on cell phones, more than one. Have not tried an external land line.
