I have a 3 KSU system. The old voicemail crapped out, it was an NVM-202 I think. So I have used asterisk as a new voicemail running on a linux box. I have set it up to listen for the digits and then direct the call to the right place, and this works great when you are checking your voicemail.
But when I get a call in that is unanswered, it picks up but then halfway through sending the digits it hangs up and keeps ringing. If i split the signal and pick up a phone at the same time it does not hangup and works fine every time. It does not work maybe 85% of the the time in total. Why on earth is it doing this. am I right in thinking that if it was my voicemail hangingup that the call would end then?
any help would be great this is driving me nuts.
Thanks Joel

I think from what I have read elsewhere that this is a problem with the caller ID and that is why it is happening only on incoming calls, how can I turn off the caller ID being sent to the voicemail? I have the manuals but I can't find it.

Try what joel suggested. You could always get yourself a cheap prophetlite vm for it also.

Sorry that was me posting an addon to my first post. I want to try to turn off the caller id, but I can't find how in the manuals, can anyone walk me through how to do it from ext. 300, because the aux card doesn't work any more so I can't log onto the system?
Thanks Joel
