Not truely phontom rings...just ringing but I am unable to answer. We are currently in the process of changing all exts. to match DID's. We had a phone tech out to create new tables, redo the time zones etc. Problem is he told me to go into 0502 and associate the new ext. with the old port #'s and the old exts. with the virtual ports that were set up. Problem is now we are getting phontom rings. If someone call my old ext(which is now virtual) I get an off ring and when I pick up there is no one there. The call does get forwarded to the new VM box via auto forward. Has anyone come across this type of problem? What could be causing the exts. to ring but not let me answer? Thanks in advance for your assistance.
We are running a 704i - not sure what other information you may need.

It COULD be that you have a call covergae key assigned on a phantom number on your phone and your phone and call coverage keys are not programmed to pick up on a ring.

Thanks Coral! That was it! The virtual ext. had a key programmed. Went into 1006 and changed the key and then to 1016 to change the time.
Thanks!
