We have a 92i system and I need to forward calls to an external number. Im curious about both options:
1) Use my own phone. Ive been told the way to do this is set up a speed dial and then enter:
SPK (*)848 1 (*)813 DC & speed dial code
but I get an engaged tone at the point of entering 813. Is this a class of service issue and if so which do i need to change?
2) Use a DDI (we have an ISDN line coming in with 100 DDIs) that is not currently in use internally and set this DDI to always forward to the external number. I have tried this under 1806 setting table number 51 and 251 (so the number xxxxx50 will be the number people outside call). But the number comes up engaged.

I think you are talking about a 124i or a 384i system I have never heard of a 92i.
Are you positive it is a 92i?

In a 124i/384i you should look at 0406 item 128 for call forward off premise and 0419 item 1 & 2 which allows trunk to trunk transfer. and make sure your outgoing trunks have 0901 item 31 on .
then use the call forward off premise service code, =*4 + trunk access code + phone number + #
the code you gave are not correct codes. *8 will get you voicemail 848 is not valid and 813 as well so this is why you get reorder tone or vacant number.

Thanks again, you seem to be the resident helpful expert on this forum! Yeah all the engineers that have ever been on our site, and all the receptionists at the company we got the system off all say our system is 92i.
I had to set item 2 and 3 in 1810 for the tables in 1806. Also had to give the lines the ability to transfer calls out on the trunk. All worked nicely then.
Silly me though, during all this programming I managed to mess up button 21 on my own phone which WAS the button to let me pick up incoming calls from the outside. When main reception rings button 21 on my phone flashed and I could hit that button to pick up the incoming call.
Damned if I can remember the code that WAS on this button. I was sure it was 1033 but obviously not.

I guess your in Ireland and they called it something different out there. I am sure they are running the same software though. Everything you are saying matches the same codes in the 124i/384i out here in Canada.
Anyway, 1033 is a park key, go speaker 851 hit the key and dial 1033 and the park zone number.
Check on another phone if it is a park key though. Hit the check button on the phone and then hit the key it should tell you on the display what type of key it is.

I dont think its park key they used. It was virtual extensions. Extension 73 is virtual on our system and its set to be on the incoming call ring group too. Key 21 on my phone WAS set to be this virtual extension and so it flashed when a call was coming in to reception but I dont know how to set it back to this.

hi, for external call fwd cmd 0406,class no,item 79 shoul be 1. store your no. in abbrivated dialing by using 853 location no(eg;853-001-telephone no). cmd 0604,abb location no,enter trunk group no by which it has to dial(default 1). cmd 0901 ,all trunks, item 31&32 should be 1.
then enable this feature by using 848-1-813-abb no.
