Hey Guys, after our system defaulted I was able to get most things back to where they were. and for a couple of the harder things I had a local company come out and do some work. One of the things they were suppose to fix, was the ability to call forward off premise. Now we did this all the time before. the auto attendant would answer, the caller would put in and extention, and the system would call out to that persons cell phone. the guy that came out to fix it told me that our system wont do that. any ideas?

There are a bunch of class of service options you have to enable to allow off-site call forwarding. I think you also may need trunk supervision on.

https://www.nitsuko.com/pdfs/i-series/92600mfh06.pdf Umm, it's all right there and available. Look at page 21. You might have to adjust COS settings to allow off premise calling.

That's the desk-set "how to use your telephone" manual; Not the full 1400 page system programming manual that has details on programming the switch itself, class of service options, etc. NEC won't let end users have that manual (I tried, believe me, their answer for everything is "go to your authorized dealer".)
I looked it up: "call forward, off-premise" is disabled by default. Enable it for the station's class of sevice in program 0406:128.
You also need to have trunk supervision on for any outside CO lines that will be used (program 0901:31)
If the company that came in told you it couldn't be done, then you might want to seek a new provider: they clearly weren't qualified.

I know what it is eric07. It gives instruction on how to forward your phone off-premise, which you would need to know how to do if you wanted to do off premise from th eextension. As for the NEC/Nitsuko certified installer manuals; they are restricted for good reason.

That we can agree on unless there is something not readilly apparent that we or the customer doesn't know.

hey guys,
how about this, I am still unable to call forward off premise, and I have my extension set to to call forward off premise and I can not cancel it. when and outside call comes in, and they dial my extension it rings at my desk. if some one from another extension tries to call me, it forwards the call to my cell phone. Does that give anyone any ideas? I feel like I am running out of options. I know the phone system will do it, I just need someone that can program it. thanks for any help you might have.
Tony
