We have a 704i. We have a phone that when the voice over feature is used to call this phone, the outside caller can hear the voice over. This only happens when this phone is using a headset. Handset works fine. There are other phones programmed the same COS and other known programs that work just fine under the same conditions. Is there as user program that can cause these results? Any local codes that will cause this? Our vendor has called NEC engineering and the only suggestions they have so far are global settings and all them seem to be as they should be.
Thanks in advance!
-Glenn

Is the headset plugged into the headset jack OR the handset jack on the phone? There is a difference.

The headset is plantronics which is used throughout the company. A headset key is programmed on the phone and base unit is connected via headset jack. Handset is attached to plantronics base unit. Handset works but headset does not. even taking off headset key, removing handset so audio goes to headset, voice over still fails.

So what you are saying is that the handset works on VO and the headset does not. Let me RE-phrase this. Have you taken the headset and plugged it into where the handset is supposed to go rather than the headset port? I think that you cannot VO on a headset port on the phone. I THINK it HAS to be on the handset port. Give it a try.

We ended up taking the plantronics base unit out of the picture and connected the headset straight into phone(handset jack). This resolved the issue. It still does not explain why most users can receive VO with base unit attached, but it is a good workaround.
Thanks for the help!
