I recently purchased a used Nitsuko NVM-2e voicemail system for integration with a DS-01 switch. I want to update it to the latest version of softeware, version 2.x. Is this possible? Are there commercial sources for this upgrade? If so, any idea of the cost? In the alternative, is there any way to change the "personality" of the older software to work with a different switch than the one it was originally programed to work with? Any and all pointers would be most appreciated!

Its all old equipment , if you want the latest software your best bet would be to look for a 2e with the latest software installed

I don't know of any sources of upgrade

why do you want to upgrade ?

I am able to access the NVM-2e through the com port and it says it is configured to work with the 124i system. I assume the inband signaling for the two systems (124i vs. DS01) is not the same. The documentation off the NEC website I have only reflects the programming for the most recent version of the NVM-2e software. On boot, among other things that are displayed, it reports that there are 0 installs left. Not sure what that means, but I doubt that it is good.

It is compatible, I have interfaced the 2e with a DS01 before.
