I have 16 phone lines going into the switch.
When a user places a call, they pick up the headset, press the CL1 key, the switch assigns a line. What would the switch do if the line it was trying to use didn't work? Would it just goto the next available line?
We have a Nitsuko Optima switch. We are thinking of removing 4 phone lines.
I'm just wondering if any reprogramming would be required.
I would appreciate any advice you would care to give.
Thanks.

If you are cancelling lines that are in your line pool, you will need someone to remove those ports from your line pools. It's been a while since I worked with an Optima, so I can't say exactly what would happen if you just had the lines removed from the system. My guess would be that when your users hit one of these dead lines in the pool, they would get something that sounds similar to a busy signal, and then they would be disconnected.

I believe the system will look for the line , when it sees no voltage it will go to the next and so on .
so if you don't have the lines removed the users will get a few seconds of silence before the connect
they should be removed through programing
its easy enough to check , pull the lines off now and see shat happens
