Hello,

A client of mine has an old Nitsuko DXE but no working installer password.

Entering #*#* gives the screen:

Code
DATA INPUT V2.4H
Password-
And from there we can get in using the default passwords for the level 1 and 2 system administrators, but as far as I can tell they only allow us to change the system time.

Neither the supposed installer password we have or the inital one listed in the manuals works.

Will we have to reset the entire system somehow and reprogram from scratch (or get someone else to do this, more likely), or is there an alternative method of resetting the installer password that can be used here?

Thanks

There is a manufacturers level password you can use as long as that hasn't been changed. I have quite a few DXE systems under support, and I am always coming across this problem.

Thanks for the info. Do you know where I can obtain this password from? Is it related to the serial number or model number or anything like that?

As per forum TOS passwords (even Default ) can't be posted in the open forum

(it should be in the installers manual )

Not in the manual, The manufacturers keep it a closely guarded secret.(even then dealers who know it have a habit of changing it as well) where abouts in UK is your client based, maybe we could help.

It's okay now, I found the default password by looking through some older Aspire firmwares from the NEC website, and it worked fine:

Code
USER:NITSUKO [MF]
Enter Command>
Thanks again for the advice, couldn't have done this without the MF password hint
