what I am trying to do is have a press 2 from Auto Attendant externally transfer to a phone number.
Not sure if I did it the right way, but this is what I did and it does not work.

goto DAT and add a press 2 to UTRF to 9+XXXXXXXXXXX
It would just kick me back to the main greeting, so I thought phone system programming.

in the 704i I turned on
0406 item 128 for Voicemail COS
0419 item 1 & 2 for voicemail COS
0901 item 31 for trunk port

this used to work for 384i

anyway I just get kicked back to the main greeting again
any ideas?

Someone probably restricted the ports and/or turned off trunk to trunk connection.

what are the virtual ports on a 704i
i tried port 313 but it did not work

I see that there is another fwd off prem on port 307,
i put that extension in my DAT table and off it went so my COS, and trunk to trunk must be OK.
I am missing something in my port 313 programming, i copied everything from 307 and it still doesnt work.

Virtual ports begin at 641. Program 1030 is where you set that virtual for call forward off premise. Remember to enter a 9 before the number. Enter that virtual extension number in the DAT as a UTRF. Had to do it before...it works. good luck

Try sending it to a speed dial bin. UTRF #2000 for example.
