Has anyone connected a PC to the SMDR port of a Norstar system to collect call details? My customer is a spread sheet fanatic and wants to look at sales agent call activity. He can handle the PC side of things buit is looking to me for the hookup and SMDR activation. I'm new to the Nortel world... can anyone offer me any sugguestions? Thanks in advance!

You will need the SMDR interface! Nortel does not have a dedicated SMDR port. You mentioned sales agents, are you running any type of ACD?

if you're running an acd you may be able to get the reports already from the acd. give us more details. if you are just looking to see inbound and outbound calling then you'll need the SMDR6 which hooks up to a digital station port.

Gentlemen, thank you both for your replies. I'm meeting with the customer this afternoon and I have asked them to compile their originally purchased list of h/w & s/w. I'll know better in few hours nad then I'll return with more info.
Your insights have put me on the right track. thanks.
catch you later. Matt
