Hello.

I have a Norstar CICS 4x16 4.2 Software.

I have it set up so I can forward my extension to my cell phone. I accomplished this by setting up a route to my cell phone, with a destination code of 701. On my telephone, I press Feature+4 then 701. This works perfectly.... here is my only problem: I can not have my phone ring for CO lines now, because if I do, it will forward all incoming calls to my cell phone.

Is there a way I can forward only calls that ring directly to me (i.e. I/C calls, transferred calls, V/M transfer, etc.) and still have regular CO lines and Answer DNs ringing on my extension?

Thanks.

Unforunately, no, that's one of the problems I run into with customers that want automatic transfer to VM if they don't answer or or on the phone. You pretty much have to decide what's more important to you, ringing or the off-premis forward. If someone else has a solution I would love to hear it too.

You will need to go under "Services" and set up a ring group. Then, take the ringing off in "Terminals & Sets."

Lines that ring on phones via ring groups will not transfer to voice mail via the sets CFNA/CFB.

Larry, would that get around him manually forwarding his phones using ftr 4 too? Thanks for the tip on the other though, I have never tried the ringing groups to get around the forwardng/ring issue.

No, he would still have to forward using F4. He would only get I/C and xferd calls.

Thanks for your replies. I had tried the ringing groups option as well, thinking that they would not forward. I even tried putting an answer dn on my phone of another phone which did ring. Unfortunately, with both options, they transferred all calls ringing into the office immediately to my cell phone.

I guess I will just have to decide which I want more.

Thanks for your help.

When you tried ring groups did you remove ringing from Terminals & Sets?

I know that it will not forward to voice mail under CFNA/CFB. Not sure about forwarding with F4.
