I remember using a Feature Code (CICS/MICS) that would, as people completed their calls, prevent anyone from initiating a new call until the system was re-started. This allowed a technician, working in a busy office, the ability to shut-down the system without having to wait and run around telling everyone not to make another call. Upon all calls being completed, technician could shut-down and swap/add new cards, etc. without having to interrupt any calls.

I've checked my documentation and cannot for the life of me find that code.

Anyone?

Thanks in advance,

It is simple. Get into config. Go to Maintenance. Go to Module Status. Disable the modules one at a time. When asked if you want to disable at once, select no. I would disable the line cards first, that way no one can access them while you are disabling the station modules.

Thanks. That could be what I did in the past, but time & a bad memory made me believe it was a simple feature code.

Another way is to tell the boss how much you are charging him to wait for the phones to free up. It is amazing how fast they will tell you to turn things off [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]
