I have a customer with a M8/24 KSU only with Startalk Flash. They are presently using 2 digit DNs and mailboxes. The customer has 8 lines in the system now but want to add 2 more. Is it possible to add an expansion and trunk module for the two lines without changing the DN length? Otherwise I have to reprogram the whole system and rerecord all of the mailboxes. Or is there a way to change the Flash to 3 digit mailboxes without erasing all of the greetings and messages?

To quote the book ( Modular DR5 Installer Guide). "A non-expanded system (with a default DN length of 2) is automatically changed to a DN length of 3 after an expansion cartridge is installed and power is restored to the KSU"

Well, what about the Startalk Flash, is there a way to change the mailboxes from 2digit to 3 digit extensions without having to rerecord all of the greetings and loose all of the saved messages?

No, you are going to have to re-configure the flash from scratch.
