Does any know if a FLASH Voice Mail System will work on a port that is connected to a Station Module instead of a port on the main system, either CICS or MICS ???
i.e..Anything that says a Flash MUST be on the main module ???

The reason I asked was a customer bought a refurbished flash unit. They didn't have any ports on the main unit so I used a port on the station module. Once installed I tried accessing it. It would only come up when the 2-digit password was used. but the system is using 3-digit extensions. So I tried to re-initialize the flash. Instead it somehow forced a cold start on the MICS (Wonderful) and then I never access the flash again. DEAD. I just didn't want that to happen again now that he got a replacement unit for the DEAD unit.

We used to intall them on any port but later on we were told to put them on the main KSU. I never had any problems with them being on any port. Its no problem to move a set off the main KSU to the modules to make some room. Good luck

I've heard the same thing, it is preferential to install the Vmail on the core ports of the system.

I had to install this today. After clanier said it would work, I went for it. I will keep Bob3470 and Toner in mind if it has problems later on, but I sure hope clanier is more correct. Cross my fingers. Thanks for the info.

I've never had problems using ports from station mods, either.

The mail will work fine on any digital station port. It is recommended to be installed on the KSU, so that mail continues to function if the station module dies.

BCMGUY.COM - Thanks for the confirmation. That is what I told the customer but he was ok with that. So far it seems to be working on the Station module. You also list your web site but there is nothing there execept COMING IN MARCH. How do I email you ?
