Yesterday I added a copper station module to an old 8x24. I had to add a 2 port expansion card to facilitate the station module expansion. This worked with no problem......So I thought.

I powered up the system and the DN length changed from 2 digits to 3. I tried to change back to 2 digits but the system no longer allows for 2 digits. This would be o.k but they have a voicemail which stayed at the 2 digit length which causes several problems.

Is this something that I messed up or is this something that happens when expanding an 8x24? Any advise is appreciated.

If you add an expansion card the system goes to 3 digits. You'll have to reprogram the voicemail if it is a Startalk. I'm sure that is not what you wanted to hear.

If it makes you feel any better, I learned that one the hard way too. Just another of one of those "five minute jobs" that turned into a whole day's worth of work. Would'nt have been to bad if it were'nt for the voice mail.

Thanks for the replies.

I had to default the vmail system and start over. Luckily it was a T&M client.
