I am installing a MICS 5.0, straight T1 with 15 Channels. I have 9 incoming hunt group lines that are being ported, and I have 50+ DID's that are private to the particular extension. I have set my template up for DID, and it automatically assigned my lines from 145 up, changed my recvd digits to match the DID for each extension, and have the first 15 lines provisioned, with 16-24 deprovisioned.

Here is my question: I was told that I must have the T1 carrier provided seperate channels for my incoming/outgoing lines (they are combo lines)
and seperate channels for my DID's. Isn't the Norstar capable of 2 way DID's that just uses the Ports as paths for the incoming and outgoing lines?

I have multiple locations using 2 way combo trunks for outbound and inbound DID calls. Our trunks are configured as E&M tie to accomplish this.

To allow 2 way DID's you must have a PRI. At least that is the way we do it.

Program for E&M with wink start.
Make sure you assign a pool group.
Then program your target lines as usual.

Good Luck!!

Example:
Channel Set Up:
From Lines: - Show
Line001:Line001 – Show (you’re entering your channel numbers here.)
Trunk/Line data – Show
TrunkType: E&M – Next
Line type: Pool A - Next
Dial Mode: Tone – Next
PrimeSet: 221 – Next
Auto privacy: Y – Next
Ans Mode: Auto – Next
Ans with DISA: N – Next
Aux. Ringer: N – Next
Signal: WinkStart – Next
ANI number: N – Next
End of List

Target Lines Programming:
From Lines – Show
Show LN: 145 – Show (target line range from 145-275 non-XC SW, 145-336 XC SW)
Target LN – Next
Private to: (extension number) – Next
Rec’d #: (enter digits Telco is sending) – Next
If Busy: to prime – Next
PrimeSet: 221 change to the extension # - Next
CLID Set: None – Next
Aux. Ringer: N – Next

If all else fails, use a BFH.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your help. I actually got the thing up and working. The one thing that the T1 carrier forgot to mention is that they were including the ported number as DID sending the digits as incoming lines. That threw me off because I was not expecting to have to assign the recieve digits as a target line to the reception phone as DID.

Thanks again
