I have a customer that wants to transfer a call outside the system. They are using the Feature 71(link) they get dialtone and then dial the number. How do you back out and leave the 2 lines connected? I tried to create a conference and then drop out and that doesn't work either.

you must have that service on your telco lines. Right now all you are doing is a 3 way call, what you need to have setup from the Telco is called an off premise tranfer.

They have done that. When on a call and then pressing feature 71 gives dialtone. We dial the 2nd number and then the screen says transfer. We press it and it only allows to type in an internal station number.

Usually you send the link signal a second time to connect the two external parties.

I believe you F71(flash) again. This should connect all parties together. You should be able to drop out.
