a client currently has a centrex system, but is getting a nortel 8x24 system installed using the same lines. is it possible for the 2 systems to coexist?

There would not be a problem even if you don't have the Centrex SW version for the Norstar.

Nortel has Centrex software availible on the 8X24 which assumes the"9" when dialing. Its older software. You can use the newer software and program in ROUTING SERVICES (Outdial) to dial out the 9 for a centrex line. This way they only dial one "9" to access the line pool and the system will dial the 2nd nine.

Not if they are using digital centrex. IE 5316 or 5208 sets
