First, I know and fully respect the quidelines of forums to not print Passwords..........
So, I have an MICS 8x24 that I took out of service about 2 years ago, been sitting on the shelf, fired it up, everything looks to be working fine. I tried to do a system startup to default it, and forgot that when I took it down, the customer said their old vendor changed the installer PW.
Is there a way to reset the PW, and if so, would somebody be willing to e-mail me or call?

Go in using NRU and a RAD.

Sydeshow MO is right. Use NRU. You won't need the system ID to get in (just don't set one on the RAD). ------------------ BCM Guy www.BCMguy.com Learn more about the Nortel Networks Business Communications Manager HERE !

wow an 8x24 maintaining the programming after sitting on the self for 2 years!!! I would think the internal battery would be dead. and the system would already be defaulted.
When all else fails, Give someone else a try!

I have a similar problem... If I remove the battery for a period of time, will the system reset to default?

Hi Todd, Welcome to the board! There isn't a removable/replacable battery. These Feature cartridges use a 1F capacitor (yeah, I know, you would think it would be the size of a coffee can) to retain the customer database. If you just want to default the system, follow the "startup" procedure in the I&M manual. Be sure to select "Yes" at the 'reset memory?' prompt. Good Luck! ------------------ BCM Guy www.BCMguy.com Learn more about the Nortel Networks Business Communications Manager HERE !

Cool... I will get my hands on a manual that outlines that procedure. Thanks for the welcome. I'm an Installation/Repair technician for the local telco, and have acquired a few different systems. I'm too lazy to go to school so I'm plugging away at learning the basics of them on my own.
Thanks again
Todd
