I have the Norstar Meridian with 6.1 software and the NAM voice mail Version 4. The phone service is PRI.

I would like to set something up where we can transfer a call so that several phones ring. If there is no response even when the several phones ring, it either bounces back to the one who transfered (perferable) or goes to the General Deilivery mailbox (100).

Here are some things that may or may not be a problem:

1. All the users have their own mailbox that picks up in 4 rings.

2. The General Delivery mailbox (100) is tied to the operator's extension 221.

3. We do not have a full time operator so when she is not in we forward the operator console an old 7100 phone that is set up as an Aux Ringer so the overhead page rings. All phones are setup as Pickup Group 1 so they can all dial Feature 75 to pick up the phone from any set. Since there is no mailbox setup for the 7100 phone, unanswered calls go to mailbox 100.

You can do everything you want using a hunt group. None of the items in your list are a problem.

Good Luck!

Thanks,

What is the difference between a hunt group and a ring group anyway?

I thought that a hunt just meant bouncing from line to line and ring group just meant all ringing at once. Now that I see what I can do with Hunt, I don't know what Ring group is for.
