The next step is....
you use it!
Assuming the System Mode is set to "Automatic" and you've programmed a button to "System Closed", then whenever you depress that button, the NBX will ignore your business hours and operate in "Closed" mode. The LED next to that button will blink until you depress it again. Once you do that, the NBX will go back into automatic mode and use your business hours to determine when to change modes.

Funny, it doesn't work. The phone still rings when the system is in the system close state. I'm trying to get it to forward to an AA when its closed.

I forward all Trunks to to ext 5598 in the close section.
I changed this is Device Configuration > Digital Line Port. Trunks 1 - 16 or either on line or on call and trunks 17 - 23 are offline. So I modified trunks 1 - 16 to goto 5598 on system close. Still doesn't work.

What does the menu tree for 5598 look like? Specifically, what action is taken on time out?
What I'm wondering is whether the calls are being correctly forwarded to the AA, but then being routed back into the system on timeout.
If you just wanted a "Sorry we're closed" type announcement, setting the T/O value to "disabled" would disconnect the call after the specified period.
We have a couple of sites where the after-hours AA will timeout to a specific phone group, ringing all those phones. Others will T/O to the receptionist's voicemail or simply disconnect.
