I am setting up a new callpilot 100 with a Norstar MICS, and I can't connect to it over ethernet. All 5 indicator led's are lit continuously after it gets going, and I have initialized it using a phone, but I still can't connect to it using a web browser. I have been trying to connect to the default IP address which is 192.168.110.10, and I always get the error "The connection was refused when attempting to connect to 192.168.110.10" in firefox, and "page cannot be displayed" in internet explorer. I have tried with and without the "https://". I am using a netgear router, but have also tried a crossover cable to connect directly with my laptop. I am using versiono 6 of internet explorer, which is listed as compatible in the manual, and 1.0.4 firefox.
Does anyone know why I am having this trouble?
Thanks, Nate

Don't know why, but I have always had trouble conneting using the default IP and ended up hooking up to the serial port to change the IP. Also make sure you are in the same subnet.

Can you ping that IP address on the network to make sure it is alive?

Ping got no response. It looks like I'll have to try to dig up a serial cable.

I configured it over the serial port and now it works over the network. I must criticize Nortel for the wording of the manual which implies that it should work without this, but I guess it wasn't meant for first timers anyway.
Thanks Nate

It does work the way the manual says. Many installed that way. ------------------ Business Phone Systems
