I'm looking to upgrade my merlin legend to some kind of Norstar. In particular I need some new features. I would to have (preferable but not necessary) TWO LINE (CALLER NAME & NUMBER) on the displays of phones simultaneously. Likewise, I would also like to have Call Logging features accessed from the phone (Like in ACSR6). What is the smallest and earliest (software release) Norstar I can get with these features. The caller ID (at least one callername or number) and Call loggin features are very important. Thanks

The Norstar CICS software version 4.1 provides caller ID if you use the CI trunk cartridges. You can also enable call logging and specify the log size. I believe the Norstar MICS will also do this but I'm not sure of the software version required. The M series telephones (M7324, 7310, 7208) only provide one line display. The T series may provide two line I'm not sure. Two other systems that will do what you want are the Avaya Partner ACS and the NEC DS1000/2000 systems. The NEC system will also pass the Caller ID info. to industry standard single line sets.

The 7208's and 7100's of both M and T series are one line displays. The 7310, 7324, & 7316's are all 2 line displays. However, if my memory serves me correctly even the 2 line displays will only show either name or number. You can press one of the softkeys on a 2 line display phone to view more CLID info.
