I have a Norstar ICS with a T1 card tied back to my Option 81C PBX with a Point to Point circuit with (8BZF/ESF). The norstar will default calls to our console on the PBX in mid-conversations. Error come up on the T1 in the PBX and the Norstar shows Alarm 44-0 with numberous event codes indicating an issue with T1.
I work on the larger systems and am not that familiar with the Norstar. How should the lines be configured in the Norstar in this configuration? Currently they are set for E&M.

You could have several issues. E&M wink is correct for tie line apps. I would LD 60 in the 81 and run an count of the issues on the T1 from the 81 side. Look for bipolars,slips,frame loss,etc. This could point to either a hardware/programming trouble on either side or a clocking issue. ------------------ Business Phone Systems
