I have just upgraded a client from 6.1 to 7.0XC - I thought the NAM was a "Station Module" - so I connected it to the new 6 port fiber (Module 9), but it doesn't boot up properly when it's there. I put it back as SM3 (bottom of card 2) and it works fine - but - since I can ONLY put TM's on card 2 - this makes me lose some trunk capability...is this the way it is, or am I doing something wrong? Can you plug the NAM in as a station module on card 1? Or do I have to have card 2 completely full before using any ports on card 1? Thanks for any replies!

You should be able to connect the NAM as a station module to any fiber port. However I found out and saw a lot of crazy problems with Mics 7.0(I recommends using 6.1 s/w MR) so maybe your problem is another one .I will connect the NAM to any port as long that’s working. The NAM is also not supported on the Mics 7.0 however it will work .I hope that helps.

You should also consider moving the NAM to the port 3 on combo card. SM's should start at port 6 and TM's should start at port 1.

Try to disable MOD 3 and then move the NAM to port 3. Your DN for the VM will change but so will your CallFwd to DN in Capabilities so no worries. I usually make SM5 (port 3) my 5XXX ext. This will let your VM port be in the 5 range. This is what most Norstar installers do. At least in the Williams days thats how we did it.

Thanks for the info...the main reason for the 7.0 upgrade is the "No Free Lines" issue also noted on this forum...They have 3 DTI cards with E&M Wink T1's - when we had the framing/line codings/start signaling changed to SF/AMI/Loop - things were perfect - I think it was mostly the Loop Start that corrected the issue, but to get DNIS/ANI we need E&M...the 6.1 MR (latest version I could find) did NOT resolve this issue as stated elsewhere in this forum. The "weird" thing I'm seeing now with BOTH of my 7.0 MICS upgrades is DN 245 (first DN port on the second 25 pair from the KSU) always displays "CALLBACK" above the third display button...has anyone seen this??? I'm going to post this problem seperately as well, in case it gets lost in these replies. Again, thanks for the feedback!
