This phone has 6 line/feature buttons available. The button mapping goes: 01,02,03,and the right column is 07,08,09. How do you install a line 4 CO when the system defaults it to button map 04 which is not on this set. I tried doing a line move (F*81) on a M7310 to location 07 and then copied all info to the 7406 but it didn't work. What am I missing here?

I have plugged in a 7310, F*81 to line 07 and then plugged in the M7406. Didn't do the copy.

T7406 emulates a M7310.

try setting up the buttons in T&S > user preferences

The manual says it can't be done, however that's not exactly true.

1) Remove all the lines then exit programming and let the system update.

2) Go back into programming and assign line 4 to the cordless then exit again. Use F*81 to move line four from the left side to the right.

3) Go into programming again and assign the first 3 lines.

I love it when the manual says it can't be done and someone figures out how to do it.

There ought to be a guide to programming tricks on the site. This would be a good first start.
