Tell the customer that it is the new "silent" phone system. No dialtone, but just dial away. If they have to have a dialtone, then they need to eat their Wheaties every morning so they have enough energy to push that 9 button before they dial a number. Or do something wild like hotline a "Pause, Pause, 9" Do you think if you put enough pauses in there they may hear the dial tone before the 9 goes out????

You can add the dial tone, it's under "ringing service" - "2nd dial tone" if I remember correctly.

Client just gave me a check for $37k. I'll do anything to make their dreams come true...if I even have to stand there and dial a "9" for them myself before each phone call.

Thanks for the replies & Happy New Year, all!

OK, I guess I learned something that you can't put PRI lines in Pool A, that is something I didn't know.

Does anyone have any real solution to give them an outside line by picking up the handset or pushing one button on the phone. I would like to store this solution, if their is one, in my records.

Thanks, Bunnie

Push one button???? Ok - make an autodial button and put a 9 on it. HA.
If they are going to have a T1, then they are big business. If they are big business, then they have to be smart. If they are smart, they will learn how to push a 9 before dialing. Every big company I go to has to push a 9, or 8, or some other code to get an outside line. What's the big deal? Are they that lazy???.....or stupid??? If Yes? then go back to copper lines with a line pool access.

lol Ntlayoff...

well I was in a business once, their line access code was 52894167 ha try that one. I'd pick 9 over that anyday.

[had to look that one up it wasn't memorized.]

Danny,
Did you get your problem resolved? If not, make sure your route tables are set up to dial out, give line pool PRI-A access to all sets, make Intercom the prime line (Under terminals and sets.) When you set up your route and destination tables, set them up so that they can dial a local number with or without a 9. The main thing is to make sure your dial plan does not conflict with the destination codes.

EXAMPLE: we are in the Denver area and have area codes 303 and 720 for local calls. I set my route and dest tables to allow 303* and 720*. Depending on the intercom/DID numbers, I can allow 1 for long distance or they may have to dial an access code for long distance (8 or9).
Hope this helps.

Barb
