Hello All! I am new to this forum.... I have sold my 616 Nortel KSU, and I bought an older 824. It does not respond to the reset code, and can't enter system programming as well. Can anyone help me with reseting this unit so I can re-program the system. Also, where do I punch down the C.O. lines? I enjoy my Nortel system, but only when it works!! Thanks in advance, and thanks for a very informative forum. My email is [email protected]

The STARTUP Reset code has to be entered within the first 15 min of being powered on. Unplug it and try again before 15 min expire. Your CO lines are off the bottom amphenol connector. Just start with pair 1 for line 1 - pair 2 for line 2 - then skip 2 pairs and find 3, then 4. etc...
If CON is the opposite of PRO Then what is the opposite of Progress?

On an 824 the lines are all in a row - pairs 1 - 8. Also, I'm thinking the programming password has been changed so I don't think startup will do the trick either but I could be wrong.

I'm in Ottawa vote for me... just kidding, kick da liberal bums out.
Mod 824... Your cofiguration password has been changed. There are ways to get in depending on software version.

Thanks all. The first thing I tried was the startup code once I powered it up. No such luck. It would seem that the passwords have been changed. The usuall p/w do not work either. How would I get in? Telemarv you mention there are ways??? Good luck in Ottawa fellas, I doubt Mr. Martin will be hanging around much longer.

It seems that the bix for the 824 is much different than the 616 and 8x3 that I am familiar with. Thanks for the C.O. info. Also curious about Music on hold, paging speakers etc. Is there a diagram out there that would show me where it all terminates? Thanks again everyone.
