Will a BCM accept a norstar door phone and controller?

The BCM will support certain versions of the doorphone and controller.

The issue we had was on a 3.0 BCM. The Norstar doorphone we were originally shipped by Nortel would not work. We went back to Nortel and had to wait about 2 months for a BCM compatible doorphone. If my records are correct we used a NTAB9910 and NT8B79FE(Controller and Doorphone). The problem with the 3.0 may have been patched by now. I would PM BCMGUY and see if has a compatibility chart on this.

This is what I found for doorphones.
NT8B79FA is NOT compatable with BCM.
NT8B79FD IS compatable. BST Doorphone Steel
NTAB9910 IS compatable. BST Doorphone Brass

The older versions work on Norstar but not the newer BCM's. They look identical, and they sort of work, but not properly, or not at all. I had a customer who bought the FA version had someone else physically install it, then called me and asked me to program it. I could do a VOICE CALL TO the phone, but could not program it and could not get the button to work. Finally checked the part number and told them to get the FD version. Works just great now.

Nt is programmed the same way (F codes) or by the web browser?

The doorphones on a BCM are programmed thru the browser. Have to find an unused port, do some of the programming, then connect the doorphone, then complete the programming.
