I'm currently installing a MICS 7.0 with a T1 for long distance and 10 local lines for toll free and locals. Is it possible to overflow to the local lines if the T fails or all channels are in use? I was told no by my Northern rep but find it hard to believe.

You can ask your telco to overflow the PRI to a certain number. If you want to receive more than 1 call, you will need a rotary. So that if the 1st number is busy it will bump to 2nd to 3rd and to 4th. This overflow will occur if the PRI is full or if it fails.
Two girls later and I'm back.....lol...been gone a while but see same faces still here. Lol

the circuit is not a pri. The function I'm looking for would be from the MICS.

So you would have 2 line pools correct? PRI A and Pool A. You just have them have 2 different pool codes. Not sure what else you would be looking for?

right I have two line pools, no pri, straight T1, if line pool B (t1 long distance)goes down or is maxed out can the caller use line pool a (locals) automatically. The previous switch (Mitel) would see the T down and follow the next route.

You can use routing and destination codes which provide for over flow routing. Check page 406 of the installer guide "Programming least cost routing"
