I have a customer with a MICS - DR 4.1 S/W W16.00 on the card. I have tired installing 1.7 1.9 2.0 on a Star Talk Flash unit and it will not come up. I know the unit is good because it will come up on a CICS. What am I doing that is stopping the MICS from seeing the voice mail?

MICS 4.1 requires 1.9 or higher.
You do know that on FLASH 1.9 or higher the 1st thing you must do is select the feature range?

It will not come up at all. I have tired 1.7 1.9 2.0 in a Star Talk Flash. I have also tried a call piolet 100. All are known units and work fine with my CICS.

Make sure you have working ports... plug a set in and see if it comes up. Or do as Tronics says check maintenance, but if none of those systems work, I'm 99% sure you are not connecting to a good working station port(s).

Ports are fine. I have had it on 250 and 251 (31 and 32) and plugged in phones and both times the phones come up. I just cant get the MICS to see the voice mail.

Check the extended features that are registered with the MICS. The Vmail that you are trying to connect won't be able to register its codes if they are already in use.
If Vmail codes are registered, remove them and reboot the mail. If no new codes register, there is a problem with the mail or its connection to the station port.
I will email the procedure for checking the extended features if you need it.
Good Luck!

OK...we did all of the things that this thread has suggested. We changed the MICS software card and used 4 different voice mails and 3 different software versions. We can't get it to work. Any more suggestions would be appreciated!

Have you tried watching the flash boot with a laptop using the serial connection.

At this point B Cannon I would do a startup on the MICS and a reinstall and config on the voicemail, plug the voicemail in first and then the MICS. I guess what I'm saying is to start from scratch and see if the MICS will recognize the voicemail that way. Keep us posted. Thanks, John
