Has anyone out there ever networked two MICS over customer owned fiber? I have an instance where the customer has two MICS in two different locations. The customer is going to pull fiber to the two locations for their internet access, and they want to keep both MICS and add a NAM or Callpilot for voice mail

Just upgrade one of the mics and used some fiber extenders to put 0x16 into one of the other locations. It will be unified at that point, rather than messing around with trunking connectivity between two mics.

Rusty, is there some special adapter that can plug into the Fiber mods to extend fiber? Also, I thought the fiber modes were single mode, is that correct?

What kind of distance between the two locations? I have seen installs where they use fiber adapter cords to remote a 0x16 station module without any powered extenders. There are companies that make custom Nortel link cords with various end configurations just for this. There are extenders available as well. Here is one: https://www.ccpin.com/pdf/Normer/Module%20Extender.pdf

Zman,
You're correct. I read the spec wrong on the mck option, which is only a DATA solution. However, doesent it seem reasonable that there should be some kind of adapter that would allow for the the extension of the fiber mods?

Thanks for the info, I believe that MCK still does provide the local and remote extenders, and we are going to upgrade to 7.0 xc in one of the Mics.
