Hello all, I've got a customer that I've sold a CICS to, software version 4.2. It would seem that ports 106-117 are not functioning. Sets have been plugged into these ports and initialize fine (i.e.set shows time and switch sees set in maint.) but the phones have no function. Anyone ever seen this before. P.S. This is a new install and I thoroughly tested this switch before I shipped it and it worked fine. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I've seen ports 109 and up not function but that was because of retricted software and in that case they just flashed.
Check the amphenol, try a reboot, If that fails, do a startup and reprogram.

117 would be a jack on the ksu not on the punchdown block.
I don't think there is 4x8 software as late as 4.2 but you can look on the software cartridge to see if there are any restriction notations.
This could be some wierd power problem. Put a voltage meter on the first six ports, 101 to 106, and compare it to the voltage on ports 107 to 116.
If they are not very very close in voltage you have a power problem and you can take it apart and look at the connections to the power supply.
Look at the station cable to ksu connection and see if there is corrosion or is pushed in making a minimal electrical connection.
Try a different 25 pair cable and see if phones plugged into them work fine.
If it is none of these, you need help from someone else.

MAKE SURE THE SCREW IS BACKED ALL THE WAY OUT OF THE ANTHONAL CABLE. I HAVE BEEN ON SEVERAL CALLS WHERE THAT SCREW WAS IN AND NOT ALLOWING GOOD CONNECTION.

Thanks for all the responses folks. Turns out the customer as usual didn't give me all the info. I spoke with him again and as it turns out the problem was moving to all the extensions intermittantly. I'd seen this problem before so I asked if maybe there was some kind of power transformer in the immediate area, and sure enough, on the other side of the wall there's a huge one. I told him to move where the KSU and termination block were located and everything seems to be operating the way it should. Again, thanks everyone for your advice.
