Is there a way to REMOVE the keycodes from a BCM 3.6 system. Do not have an orginal image of the system. Are they located in the registry or buried somewhere else. Thanks

Mike

The only way I've done it is to call ITAS and have them dial in.

Keycodes only can be recovered so that they can be migrated to another BCM, but only if the original system is defective AND under Nortel warranty. You will have to provide a new system ID and then the keycode will be valid for that new system only.

Keycodes are valid for one system only. They cannot be removed just for the heck of it.

I realize that they can be used only on one system. This is in a lab environment and wanted to remove them for a specific testing purpose. Guess I will need to get Nortel involved. Thanks

In a lab environment...If you want to remove a keycode (but leave it "registered" to the system from a KRS standpoint) from a system. The easiest way is to reimage the harddrive. Or, a second harddrive (or third, fourh...) works great in a lab.

Good Luck!
