I have a flash 2 (1.7 or 1.9 - can't remember) connected to an 8X24 DR5. The customer called me today and said that they are not receiving messages when they are left in mailboxes right away. Sometimes they won't receive a message until the next day after the caller left them one. Is this the infamous flash software issue?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

They don't have the message or "message for you" is not displayed? Often a reboot will correct the latter, but beware reboots sometimes cause Flash to default.

Their sets say "Message for You" but the message doesn't appear until later. Will a reboot still work?
Thanks

Are you sure they're not doing this with "Feature 1" ?

Yes, if a caller left a message on a Tuesday afternoon at 1:00, the user would check their mailbox before they left at 5:00 and there would be no messages. When they came in on Wednesday and checked their vm, the message would be there.

Yet it would give the "message for you" indication right away? Weird!

Does it do this to all mailboxes or just a couple?
Does it do this only on an outside call or when you leave a message internally?
If this only happens to a couple of mailboxes, then I would delete and recreate, if it happens to a lot of people you have a choice of upgrading software or spending an hour to default it and redo it.
Defaulting it can be inconvenient but cheaper. If they have a dozen users it is one thing, if they have it maxed out with 40+ users, upgrade.

Unlike the old star talk that had a seperate clock, the flash, although it has its own clock, gets its time from the 824. Sounds like the clock in the 824 and the clock in the Flash are out of sync and the Flash is setting future delivery until the times match up.
Reboot the 824 and Flash. Hope the super caps are good!!
