I was wondering if anyone has setup Call Pilot to sync with active directory. Is it possible to easily add active directory syncing to a live system?

I would like to set this up because it would greatly simplify our administration and billing system. I would be setting up a brand new active directory domain controller just for this.
I'm using CallPilot 2.02
Thanks for any help or advice,

welcome to the board.

I'm not familiar with an "active directory domain controller", could you explain what it is/does.

And could you fill in your profile please so we have some idea of who we are talking to. Thanks.

Hi Marv,
Thanks for replying.
Active Directory is Microsoft's service which replaces NT4 Domain controler achitecture. This is like a large phone book that everyone can update.
My office is using this Active Directory for E-mail authentication, as normal address book, and we use as primary database to look for user.
Now CallPilot has its own address book. I'm thinking to change CallPilot's configuration to look into our Active Directory. By doing this, I don't need to update the user's profile in both place. This will reduce my administration duty.
So has anyone heard that CallPilot can work with Active Directory?

Our version of CallPilot (04.04.04) offers AD extensions-- I don't know if your version (2.02) does or not.

However, we are not implementing the AD extensions-- so I have no idea if this is really an advisable thing to do in the first place.

Orac,
thanks for replying.
I can't find a table of CallPilot versions and its difference listed. But I guess AD is supported from CallPilot4.0.

Thank you to you and all for responding.
