1. No 2. No 3. No 4. Yes 5. Yes
If pop ups are put on the site, I would just deal with them.
I know of another site that states "If you click on one of the pop ups, you will help in reducing the cost of keeping this forum going."
With a honest comment like this, I would be more inclined to deal with a 10 or 15 second distraction as long as the pop ups don't start breeding.
Tip and ring, the work of the devil!

Like what?</font> Using an active web page banner or link that changes colors or something. Display a prompt such as "click here for our monthly specials" or " click this link to save 10% on your next purchase". Those are a few that come to mind right now. I hope to implement a few on my new site when it goes live in the next month or so. Just got to work out a few details. I am glad to say it will look a 100 times better than my current setup.

Z-man I see what your saying..which is a good idea and I'm going to run with that one. But I wasn't talking about pop-up's on this site or any other site we have. Was talking about hotbar. A pop-up when folks do a search on Office supplies or telecom an ad pops up...which I have already tried during the first week of July. It brought in about 3 thousand clicks during the week but didn't create one order or even a phone call. So I tend to think it's only getting clicked on by new computer users who don't know how to click the (x) but just click on it to see what it is. Here's the stats I got. 3318 people (sessions) entered the site through the pop-up and 3190 left through the same door. So 128 people (sessions) ventured further through the site...this is on the telbroker site. This all cost me .35 cents a click through. It isn't worth it. Which is why I asked the original question...I thought it would only attract someone who was interested and the rest would not click it but delete it, like all of ya said. Well I was wrong. on this subject working in a large company means every time you see a pop up window means that your bandwidth is more o less affected that's why at least myself I'm proactive killing all popups on arrival they don't even show up.And that means that you have time to do other things see it these way every time you open a popup it's more likely you'll endup receiving anothe popup window and also it can lead to other horrors how about SPAM? Hope this words help and if any I'm not trying to disrespect no one it's just the truth. From the Baja Dunes. Jose.

1 no 2 no 3 very much 4 no 5 yes You need to get rid of the SPY-BOTS on your computer to stop the pop-ups. You will be amazed at how much faster your PC will run when you get them off. Everybody that gets on the internet gets them. If you download music you will have more than most other people.
