Programming an Compact ICS with a CP100, I kept the default extensions so they are 2 digits. I have setup the auto attendant to answer 3 incoming lines, press 1 for sales, 3 for general questions. When the customer presses option 1 it routes to a users extension. When the customer presses option 3 it currently routes to X21 the operator. I have all phones programmed with lines 001-003 to appear and ring. I know without the CP100 the lines will ring all extensions, however with the CP100 in the equation is there a way to ring all phones without placing them into a Hunt group. I'm trying to avoid changing my extensions to 3 digits. However if I do need to change my extensions to 3 digits will I have to power/reset down the CP so it will associate the DN with the phone system or does it remember it by port number? Thanks

I'm going to try setting it up with an Answer DN to appear & ring on all extensions. Maybe?

If I understand you correctly you want option 3 to ring all phones?
Be careful with ANS DN as it follows the rules of CFNA/FB settings.
Hunt groups would be the better choice as they have their own rules. But, as you stated, you will have to redo the CP.

You have to Reinitilize the CP to see 3 didget extensions.
I tell customers that the systems must be 3 didget or they will loose features of the system that they hust purchased.
Good Luck!!
If all else fails, use a BFH.

JJ I'll remember that the next system we install. I think 3 digit is the way to go!! I got the answer DN to ring on all extensions. Ext 30 appears and rings when the customer presses option 3 from the AA. Works perfect until operator X21 is on the phone, then it routes into her voicemail. (CFNA or CFB) May have to switch a few things around and try the Hunt approach!!

If you're using ANS DN you can't use CFB... period.

Also make sure the CFNA is set to higher on the sets that have the Answer DN, then on the x21. This will ensure that in a no answer scenario the call does go to the right mailbox. If all the sets are CFNA to the same number of rings, you will have intermittent problems with the call bouncing to different mailboxes.
