Hello First time poster so please go easy.
I have a system in my office that is an 0x32 with "MICS XC 5.0 S/W" the system won't keep correct time meaning. I would set the correct time but at randome intervals the system will fall behind anywhere from three to four hours? it happens instantly it doesn't trail off it is as if someone has changed the time. i am in a small enough office that i am sure i am the only one entering programming mode. Can anyone tell me where to start. is the clock osc on the SW card or the KSU? thanks in advance.

Do you change the time in the program mode or with the time short cut? I have seen it when the time is changed in the short cut, it loose time, but that was only once. On CIC's with 7.0 I have seen the time be reset by the Telco incoming caller ID and time. Customer wanted time to always match the phones and the computers, long story short, the computer time was 3 minutes faster than Telco time and customer always said the phone system could never keep the time. welcome

Two girls later and I'm back.....lol...been gone a while but see same faces still here. Lol

Thanks for the quick response. I have only changed the time from the installer menu. I will say that this morning I changed the time from 0431 am to 0831 am and at 0834 when the phone rang I looked at the display and I saw it flip the time back to 0434am explain that? HA HA. Is it possible for the Caller ID with name info to change the system time? I am using 6 vonage VOIP lines through regular CI trunk cards.

Now comes the BIG question.
Does Vonage send time and date from a main switch on the west coast and is that what is happening to usedtobe's switch?

you know i never realized that the norstar took the time from the caller id info.
learn something new every day.
my thought was that the system was shutting down at night and the clock stopped for the duration of time it was off.

Check the carriers equipment time setting...we had this issue and could swear we had a bad out of the box KSU, turned out the Carriers equipment was set for a different time zone.
