Having two separate problems on two systems with Flash installed. Both systems are now on UPS, they were not at the time of the resets. They both worked properly before the outage and other than these 2 issues, both systems work fine.
First one is an 8X24. A few months ago, the voice mail reset due to power outage. I reprogrammed the voice mail and set the AA to 4 rings during the day - this works fine. The receptionist activates night service when she leaves at the end of the day. The night service would then only work periodically. 1 out of 5 calls would be answered on the first ring. Then the problem seemed to go away, it started to answer 100% of the time. I just recently upgraded the voice mail to 4 ports, changed the DN to 299 because I needed a second DN, copied over all of the programming, and it's doing it again. The night service only answers on the first ring on 1 out of 5 calls. Anyone had this? Is it the software cartridge?
Second system is a MICS 4.1. I also reprogrammed this due to a power outage. Since then, the system seems "possessed". The AA is set to 4 rings in the day for lines 1-4 and set to 0 rings on lines 5 -8. Sometimes, a call will come in during the day (on 1-4) and go straight to voice mail on the first ring. This only happens periodically as well. Lines 5 - 8 always work properly. I've replaced the software cartridge. I had an ex-Bell tech come in to try and diagnose any potential line issues. After measuring the lines (after we disconnected them from the system), he told me that the lines were "hot" and that they could be causing false ringing. After talking with the telco, they denied that it was the lines obviously, they told me that it's probably the line card. Without going in again to troubleshoot and replace parts, does anyone have any idea what this could be? I already charged the customer for the software replacement and the problem is still there. I've heard 3 different reasons of what this could be and I'd like a little more input before I go back and have to replace a card or something else and charge them again. Thanks in advance Sorry for the long post Chris

The question I have to ask is were these systems working fine before the power outages?
Make certain you have none of the ringing phones CFB to voice mail.
I also had a recent flash upgrade as you describe, moved the the flash ports as well. About a week after I put the cartridge in, it crashed. Had to redo the flash setup and its been fine ever since. Old flash software especially below 2.0 do weird things. 1.44 will spontaniously lose it's mind. Hence the reason for upgrades.

Thanks for the response Marv. None of the phones are CFB to VM and yes the systems were working fine before the outages. They both are still working fine other than these two strange things. I think I should replace the software cartridge replacement in the first one but the second one has me stumped.
Thanks Chris

On the second one, The telco didn't change your incoming hunt group order by chance?
I've had two calls recently where the order got changed because they were doing some reprogramming on the CO side.

Have you tested to be sure all the VM ports are working.
A simple test is do F985 on as many phones as you have ports. Do one, leave it active (showing the VM DN) then go to the next phone.
Verify the DN reported in maintenance is in fact the B1 of the first port. I've had a CP F985 report the B2 DN and have seen issues of irratic behavior because of it.
On your 1st one, I suggest you do a reinstall since you just upgraded and moved ports.
