One of the other techs moved a CICS system yesterday, I believe the rev is 6.0 but not totally sure since I wasn't personally there. Anyhow, one of the things he moved was an add-on module. He claims it had a power supply with it that went on orange pair. (I have never encountered an AOM on a cics myself.) When he hooked up the power supply to the white/orange pair everthing came up and he double checked button programming on it. After about 5 minutes power supply got exteremel hot so he unplugged it and now the AOM won't come back on. I am getting the power supply to test from him, but what I want to know: Is there a polarity or something that has to be followed with the AOM and power supply, or is this just a coincidental situation of power supply simply going out?

It sounds like the polarity may have been reversed.

Here's an old post that basically answers your question:

On SAP power supplies Notel says to have negative ring and positive tip. Tip would be white/orange and ring would be orange/white.

Just a curiosity question...The AOM is on an M-series phone??? The Add-On-Module for the T-series phones (T24-CAP) does not need an SAP.

I never did get the exact model, other tech just brought me the power supply off of it, which of course is dead as a doornail. I will probably end up being the one to go do the replacing of it though, at which point thanks to the informative posts I will be sure not to mess it up. Thanks all.
